Tiyo's Cuisine by Chef and Brewer |
It’s been a while since my last article since I’ve been busy
with work and other stuff but hey it’s never too late. So this would be my
first entry for 2013 (hooray!), I have lived in Marikina since I was born (so
that’s approx. 23yrs), and lately there have been a lot of resto popping around
our place. One is a few streets away from where I live it is a new resto named,
Tiyo’s Cuisine by Chef and Brewer.
After battling the heavy traffic on a Friday night with my
ever reliable foodie friend, we decided to look for Tiyo’s which has been on
our food list since January. I’m from the area, so it was just a bit of street
name recollection, a few turns and arguments because I keep saying left but
pointing right, we finally arrived at Tiyo’s.
For those who want to look for this place the most popular
landmark would be Tapsi ni Vivian. Tiyo’s is at Almond Nut Street which is across
Tapsi ni Vivian Building.
Tiyo’s Cuisine offers a homely feel and setting. Their menu
is Filipino fusion with other Asian influence such as Thai and Malaysian, but all the same turned out to
be flavorsome and appealing. So here’s what we ordered:
|
Chicken in Red Curry for 360PHP |
This is similar to most buffalo wings I've tried with a bit of spice on the side and crispy chicken skin. Marinated in red curry sauce.
|
Pork Belly Crackling 360PHP |
Pork Belly Crackling is the same as lechon kawali, the difference is the Bagoong Rice paired with this dish. It brings out the traditional tasty Filipino dish we all came to love. Crispy pork skin and tender pork meat. You can never go wrong with this meal.
|
Pineapple Juice 70PHP and Melon Shake 130PHP |
Not to sweet would be the best word to describe. The pulp is not that many, which is just how I like my fruit shake to be.
